Thanks to your posting in Job Connections. I got my interview with Mr. X from Y company for a Manager position because of that. I was the first among the top 8 candidates that were
interviewed from many that applied for this job. The next step for Mr. X is to select 2 or 3 for another interview early January.
Do you have any advice for me so I can be among those 3. How can I find what I need to concentrate on for the next interview.
I sent Mr. X a thank you letter after the interview but I still feel I need to do something else to increase my chances for being selected for the 2nd phase. Please give me your thoughts.
Thanks you so much for your time and energy on this matter.

You’ve sent a thank you which is good; I’d followup with an email teeing up why you’d be such a good pick; tee this up by saying you’ve been thinking about the interview and you wanted to share some additional thoughts. Do this 1-2 weeks after your initial thank you note. 3-4 weeks after the thank you note, follow up with a brief note and inquire about the status of the opening. At this point, I would let it go, and move on. Its possible the company will get back to you, but, as time goes on the chance of success diminishes. Waiting to hear about a position, can make you very tense; the best thing you can do, is to continue your search. Good Luck!
Bill, you’ll have to email me at dfneeper@yahoo.com, if you haven’t, and attach your resume.
